Jess Shanahan Bio
Jess recently joined our Fever staff as a trainer for our teams. She is also Assistant Coach for Eastern University's Women's Soccer team. Jess had a very successful season with the Fever in the WPSL in 2019, being named to the WPSL Mid-Atlantic All Conference Team. She also had a successful four-year playing career at LaSalle University and most recently played professionally abroad for S.S. Lazio in Rome.
Shanahan was a four-year starter in the midfield where she tallied six goals and 14 assists for the Division I Explorers. In 2017, she helped orchestrate an attack that scored 48 times. LaSalle finished 17-4-2 and earned an Atlantic 10 Championship and a berth in the NCAA Tournament. She started all 17 games in her junior campaign and the first 12 games of her senior year before injury ended her 2019 season.She played at nearby Episcopal Academy where she helped the Churchwomen to an Inter-AC Title in her senior season. That year she was voted team MVP and earned All-Inter-Ac, All-Main Line, and All-DELCO.
At Eastern, Jess will be responsible for all areas of the Eastern Women's Soccer Reserve Team and will be involved in recruiting and planning of on-field sessions.
For the Fever, she will continue playing on our WPSL team and help train our teams when she is available.
