Hailey Russell (Cal State University / Rider University) scored two goals to lead Fever SC past Phila Ukrainian Nationals Liberty at the Ukrainian American Sports Center in Horsham, PA last night. Gabby Zalot (NJIT) was taken down in the box as she was about to score and Russell converted on the ensuing penalty kick to put the Fever up 1-0 in the 21st minute. Liberty scored in the 60th minute to tie the game at 1-1. After back and forth action, Russell scored again in the 83rd minute with a great individual effort to seal the game for Fever 2-1. The Fever are now 5-1-0 with four games left to play. The team plays Washington DC Dutch Lions on Sunday at 1:00 in Washington DC on the grounds of the former RFK Stadium.
